Ryan’s Cup is a charity ice hockey game between the Hamilton Township Fire Department and the Hamilton Township Police Department. The game was founded in 2009 and benefits Ryan’s Quest. The most recent game was the 7th match up between the HTFD & HTPD and took place on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Mercer County Skating Center in Mercer County Park in West Windsor, NJ. The Hamilton Township Police took back the Ryan’s Cup after the Fire Department’s 2014 win. The game raised over $8,300 for Ryan’s Quest.
Ryan’s Quest is a non-profit organization founded by Ryan Schultz’s parents, David and Maria, for the sole purpose of raising awareness and funding to benefit research that has the best quality of saving Ryan and all others with DMD.
DMD is a devastating and progressive disorder that only affects boys, causing the loss of both muscle function and independence. It is typically diagnosed between the ages of 3 and 7 and approximately 20,000 boys worldwide are born with it every year. To date, there is no cure.
