Ryan’s Cup is a charity ice hockey game between the Hamilton Township Fire Department and the Hamilton Township Police Department. The game was founded in 2009 and benefits Ryan’s Quest. The next game will be Ryan’s Cup 5 and will take place on Saturday, February 23, 2013. Face off will be at 3:00pm at the Sun Center in Trenton, NJ. This year the Hamilton Township Fire Department looks to take back the cup after their 5 – 0 loss to the Police Department last year. Tickets are on sale now.
Ryan’s Quest is a non-profit organization founded by Ryan Schultz’s parents, David and Maria, for the sole purpose of raising awareness and funding to benefit research that has the best quality of saving Ryan and all others with DMD.
DMD is a devastating and progressive disorder that only affects boys, causing the loss of both muscle function and independence. It is typically diagnosed between the ages of 3 and 7 and approximately 20,000 boys worldwide are born with it every year. To date, there is no cure.
